The Government of Indonesia has officially enacted a new regulation on waste-to-energy earlier this month. This regulation establishes a new legal framework for urban waste management through waste-to-renewable energy processing and introduces several structural changes to the national approach. It aims to address Indonesia’s waste management issues, promote waste processing using machines and/or equipment capable of converting waste into energy, and reduce waste volume.
